You do not have to go to Canada for great Walleye fishing! Here at Salmon Heaven you have your choice of trolling Lake Ontario at night for huge Walleye averaging over 9 pounds or having an action packed day jigging for Walleye which average between 2-4 pounds and are great eating on Oneida Lake or as many people do, spend one day doing each! Our Walleye season begins on May 1st and the fishing stays good into July. In July we still catch Walleye, but our Bass (smallmouth and largemouth) explodes. It is very common to catch both species of Bass in the 4-5 pound range. Last year when the Bass Pro tour decided to try Oneida Lake out for one of their tournaments the pro's averaged 200 Bass/ day!!! Needles to say, they will be back again (and on ESPN) this summer.
