Click on: the YouTube videos at SalmonRiverOutfitters to see first hand our Salmon Heaven fishing including our first Lake trip of the season!!!
9/01/10 - Today was a little warm and humid on the river. The river is at 335CFS and there are a few Kings in the river. Today
the 1st King came into the fish cleaning station a 15lb hen.
08/30/10 - after a bunch of trips and several
doubles i can finally write an update. well, august was a bummer of a month. we usually have our way with the fish in august
with a bunch of limits but not this year. this year we had to work really hard to get a few. Dan and i averaged about three
salmon a day, i had one 6 salmon day, when Dan i went out we caught a bunch in a couple of hours and it looked like things
were going to get red hot but they did not. i also had some one fish days and throw in two skunks! i am going to blame the
poor fishing on wind because i have seen a lot of fish and have those good days thrown in. i am going to be optimistic about
September because it looks like temps and other conditions are finally coming together.

08/19/10 - 08/21/10 - the Salmon are around and there are some big ones as well however
with the recent south winds getting them to bite has been tough. We are averaging about 3 for 7 fish landed per 6hr fishing
trip with some nice Brown trout mixed in. With the low pressure system that is moving through right now and the 2-3 inches
of expected rain I think that there will be fish starting to pile up in front of the Salmon River and a few will probably
enter the river. 08/12/10 - Had a good day on the lake ontario today and perhaps the salmon are
finally arriving. dan and i took don out for a 6hr trip today and he landed 4 kings, 1 coho and 1 laker. two of the kings
were over 30 pounds and the silver was about 14 pounds. it was a great day and perhaps an indication that there are a lot
of big fish headed this way! 8/11/10 & 8/10/10 - Pete & Dave brought a group from Rode Island and
fished with us the last two days. They wanted to target Salmon because they already caught a mess of Brown trout in the
spring. Salmon fishing was tough the last two days. We marked salmon, there are reports of a lot of salmon 325' down
in 500 fow, but getting them to bite was a different thing. We managed to land three brown trout (6, 6 & 8 pounds) on
Salmon Heaven and two salmon (14 & 21 pounds) on the Dan's boat. The second day we caught a Salmon and two brown
trout (19, 4 & 4 pounds) on Salmon Heaven and a coho (12 - 14 pounds) on Dan's boat. We all had a good time and a wonderful
seafood feast which is discussed above. They will be up in October to do some river fishing. Yesterday the reports on the
river were good, there are brown trout and atlantics in the upper fly zone and Al caught a ten pound Brown trout! 8/8/10
- Harry and Kevin were out on a 4 hour charter today. There was southwest winds that made it a slow day for fishing
today they caught a small brown trout. 8/10/10 - Yesterday the reports on the river were good, there are brown trout
and atlantics in the upper fly zone. Harry and Kevin took Pete, Dave and friends out on a lake charter yesterday and they
brought back 2 kinds and 3 brown trout. 8/8/10 - Harry and Kevin were out on a 4 hour charter today. There was southwest
winds that made it a slow day for fishing today they caught a small brown trout. 8/07/10
- after a strong blow on Friday and a lot of residual this AM, Al and his group were able to have a few good hours of fishing.
The kings are starting to show up and they landed an 18 pound King and we lost a few (time to switch from the 12 pound leader),
they also landed several 14-15 inch Brown trout which we released (one still with my spoon!) and three really nice Brown trout
including abulgy weighing in at 9 pounds. We all had a great time and we will see you in Sept! 8/03/10
- the Kings are not here yet but the Brown trout fishing is great. Rich and his buddies from Long Island had to fight over
40 fish today! Most of the Brown were around 6-8 pounds. Just a great time on the water! Although I have not had a chance
to fish the river, there are many good reports coming to us of Atlantics, Steelhead and Brown trout. I have seen both Atlantics
and Brown trout at the fish hatchery and off the Altmar bridge. Some of the charter boats have caught Atlantics in the 14-18
pound range all in their spawn colors heading into the rivers to spawn. There have been a couple of kings caught here and
there, mostly in 650 fow, and I have heard reports of fish in the 34 pound class.
